The art of paying forward

I am paying at the supermarket and although I smile at the cashier I remain absorbed on my thoughts. When the time comes for me to pay, the cashier interrupts me, “you have a good karma, mam. Very good karma indeed.”

I am standing there deciding if I should take it more seriously or not because of the randomness of the comment. But then I remember how generous the universe has been with me lately answering almost all of my questions and even those I did not even know I have, so I smile and thank her. Because karma does not only return what we give but also encourages us to give more and more. So, thank you, Mrs. Cashier, for reminding me to extend my arms to give more and to be humble enough to receive as well.
